Precision timing. Mission ready.

Military PT test timing systems

Jaguar systems and jClock give units a defensible finish time for PT qualifications β€” Army Fitness Test, Navy PRT, Marine PFT, Air Force PFA, Coast Guard PFT, and National Guard drill weekends. Trusted at 50+ installations.

U.S. Army

Army Fitness Test (AFT)

Typical timed event: 2-mile run

The AFT replaced the ACFT on June 1, 2025. Typical test day is a company or battalion 2-mile β€” mass start or waves β€” with two platoons hitting the finish together. Designated combat MOS also run the Army Combat Field Test (bookend miles on a continuous course; not the Marine CFT). Chip the finish; the unit still scores the rest of the battery.

How a PT morning actually runs

Stopwatches fail at volume. Two platoons hitting a finish together is a reader problem. Chip timing is how the last Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, Guardian, or Coast Guardsman still gets a time.

01

Chip every participant

Issue a passive RFID bib or shoe chip. No battery on the runner. The antenna powers the chip as they cross.

02

Stand up a finish in minutes

Jaguar G4, antennas, laptop. One or two people. Recording before the first heat is done stretching.

03

Export a roster, then you score

Times matched to IDs as they finish. Apply your service's standards in your own system.

Built tough for PT day

The Jaguar G4 is a 4th-generation RFID decoder in a sealed case β€” the same system professional timers use for 18,000+ events a year.

Questions units ask

Military PT timing, answered

Which military PT tests can you time?

Any PT test whose pass/fail includes a timed run, ruck, or course: the Army Fitness Test 2-mile (AFT; the ACFT is the predecessor), the Navy PRT 1.5-mile, the Marine PFT 3-mile and Marine Corps Combat Fitness Test, the Air Force and Space Force PFA-style 1.5-mile, the Coast Guard PFT cardio event, and National Guard drill-weekend tests that follow the parent service. We capture times. The unit scores against its own pubs.

Do you still support ACFT timing?

The hardware never cared what the test was named. The Army Fitness Test replaced the ACFT as the test of record on June 1, 2025. If you are searching ACFT timing, you want AFT 2-mile chip timing β€” same physics, current name. We do not score the battery for you.

How fast can a unit set this up?

A finish point is a Jaguar G4, antennas, and a laptop. One or two people can be recording before the first heat finishes stretching. The G4 Pro has an internal battery rated for up to 18 hours; the standard G4 runs on AC or an external pack.

Does it work without installation Wi-Fi?

Yes. Timing runs entirely offline at the point of the test. Optional cloud sync can wait until it fits your IT policy. Results are stored on the laptop running Jaguar software.

Why put a jClock on a PT field?

When seconds separate a pass from a fail, the running time has to be public. jClock is a large-format, sunlight-readable LED clock with 10+ hours of battery, controlled from a phone over Bluetooth or the network. It does not replace RFID β€” it is the clock everyone can actually see.

Is this official military equipment?

No. Innovative Timing Systems designs and manufactures timing systems in the United States. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Department of Defense or any U.S. military service. Units score tests against their own orders. We supply the clock.
